Psychology taken to the regions
Ms Whitman, TASC chief executive officer, travelled to Roma to meet with Mr Collinson, a Roma psychologist who started work with TASC on January 9.
Mr Collinson joined TASC after running a private practice in Roma for six years.
The two, with TASC social enterprise development manager Beres Hogan, are starting a road trip to regions including Charleville, Quilpie and Cunnamulla to ensure ongoing familiarity with TASC support staff.
“We want to reassure them that we’re committed to the Maranoa,” Ms Whitman said. She said meeting stakeholders in person was essential.
“We’re dealing in a human industry, and with people that are vulnerable and in need,” she said. “There’s nothing that can compare to the commitment of a conversation.”Mr Collinson said the trip would also help reassure clients his service would continue unchanged.
Mr Collinson said the trip would also help reassure clients his service would continue unchanged. Ms Whitman said the combination of legal services, which TASC has provided for 35 years, with psychology and counselling, addressed issues holistically.
