PSYCHOLOGIST (Towoomba)

TASC is seeking a Psychologist to be based in our Toowoomba office.

Our Psychologists provide practical assistance to people in managing issues affecting their mental health and functioning by utilising therapies, interventions and evidence-based treatments to change existing thought and behaviour patterns to improve quality of life and overall level of mental health and wellness.

We are seeking:

  • Medicare Provider number (or the immediate ability to register for this);
  • Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA;
  • Experience (ideally clinical) as a Psychologist working with people of all ages and walks of life;
  • A willingness to work collaboratively in a shared care model with General Practitioners or other health/wellness/community service providers;
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage your own time;
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication (written and verbal);
  • A passion for professional development and staying informed of new and innovative treatments and practice methods; and
  • A commitment to working in an organisation such as TASC, whose focus is on assisting the marginalised people in our communities.

Your role will be based in Toowoomba with travel to other locations around the South West QLD region including the Maranoa and South Burnett regions required. You must hold a current registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA and an unrestricted QLD driver’s license.

Please note that we are open to applications from Psychologists seeking part-time or fulltime hours and will negotiate working arrangements with the successful person(s). An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer to match your skills and experience.

Legal Practitioner

TASC is seeking a part-time Legal Practitioner based in our Ipswich office.

Legal Practitioners provide legal advice, information, case work and representation to clients. However, you will also go beyond the traditional legal role, having an opportunity to make even more impact through providing legal education including presenting at community seminars, training police and stakeholder interest groups to raise awareness of legal matters. You will work collaboratively with other professionals within TASC as well as foster relationships with other related service providers.

  • Civil Legal Practitioner Part time (30 hrs per week)

We are seeking:

  • Admission or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland, and eligible for a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high quality legal advice and casework services (ideally 2+ years post admission), particularly with experience in minor civil law matters
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently, and within the team environment.
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level skills in problem solving and legal research.
  • Willingness to participate in community legal education and law reform activities.
  • A commitment to professional development, and a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in areas other than those based in civil law.
  • Strong commitment to the principles of social justice including a proven ability to appropriately communicate with vulnerable and marginalised clients.

The role will be based in Ipswich however you will be required to travel between TASC offices from time to time. You must hold or be immediately eligible to obtain a Positive Notice for Working with Children and receive a positive notice from Disability Services Queensland based on mandatory criminal history screening and an unrestricted QLD driver’s license.
